Charles LYON Obituary

LYON, Charles David John (RNZN). On 28 February 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Dearly loved husband of Robyn. Loved and respected Father and Father-in-Law of John and Emma and Sarah. Much adored Grampa of Lucas and Sophia. Loved younger Brother of Helen and Norma. Loved Uncle to his nephews and niece. Charles touched the lives of all who knew him with his warmth, kindness, and generous spirit. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who loved him. A service will be held at The North Harbour Chapel of Dil's Funeral Services, 185 Schnapper Rock Road, Albany, on Wednesday 5 March at 10:30 am, followed by private cremation. In lieu of flowers donations to Harbour Hospice North Shore, Takapuna, Auckland would be appreciated.

I recently found out Charlie had crossed the bar. Condolences to Robyn and family. He was my killick on Waikato back in the 80's and looked after us (most of the time!) Later in life we always had some laughs every time we caught up at Kauri Point or the Naval Base. He was a good mate who will be remembered. Regards - CPO Wayne Hannah
