For the past few days I haven't been able to get Auntie Faith out of my mind. I was 'inspired' to check the Herald Classifieds. Incredibly there was Uncle Charles's obituary! No wonder I sensed something was up.
Please know that my thoughts have been with you and that I remember Uncle Charles as he once was. In the good old Cornwallis days. He was so full of life, big, bold and just a little scarey! He loved Cornwallis, the sailing and scalloping, the fizz boat and I even think he enjoyed cutting the flaps off our cuts and cleaning out the sand. Considering it has since come to light how polluted the Manukau was in those days he probably saved us from blood poisoning. Uncle Charles seemed larger than life. He, and indeed the whole Eadie family, were such a part of those days. An important and unforgettable part. All of you.
Anyway I know you will be feeling the loss and my heart goes out to you at this time. Love and thoughts, Elizabeth (Biff) Gunn/Rust
