BLAKE, Charles Beckett (A.K.A. Jacky) Born 14-02-1921. Passed away on 10-12-2013. RNVR 1875; 1939-1945 Star; Atlantic Star; Pacific Star; Italy Star; Defence Medal; War Medal 1939-1945; The NZ War Service Medal 1939-1945; RNVR Long Service Medal. Husband of the late Ruby Rowena. Uncle to Kent and Kathy; Grant and Kathy; Heather; Julie; Lianne. Great Uncle to 11; Great Great Uncle to 19 (?). Yachtie, sailor, scowman, postmaster, raconteur ? who loved nothing more than sharing a beer (or two?) and recalling his WWII adventures. Will live indelibly in our hearts and memories. A huge "thank you" to the staff of Ranfurly War Veterans Home. Charlie will be cremated privately. A farewell will be held for Charlie on Tuesday afternoon, 17th December.
