Charles AWUNOR-RENNER Obituary

AWUNOR-RENNER, Dr. Charles Acolatse (FRCP). On Tuesday, August 19, 2025, peacefully, aged 87 years. Charles was a devoted physician whose career spanned continents. He trained in the United Kingdom, served in Africa, and from 1980 to 2007 made a lasting contribution to Invercargill's Kew Hospital, New Zealand. Renowned for his dedication to the study and treatment of diabetes, he lectured at universities and was published widely in his field. After retiring from Kew, Charles continued to share his expertise as a locum across New Zealand and Australia. He was proud to hold Emeritus status at the Royal College of Physicians, London, recognising over 35 years of membership. Beloved husband of Sue for 50 years. Much-loved father and father-in-law of Fiona and Sam, Mel and Dan, Kirstin and Sam. Adored Grandad of Marlin, Eli, Ethan, Olivia, Theo, and Ava. Cherished son of Roland and Bessy, and dearly loved brother of Edward and Leila. A respected brother-in- law, uncle, cousin, colleague, and friend to many.
