Cecily SIMETI Obituary

SIMETI, Cecily Ann (nee Alsweiler). Cecily passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Edmund Hillary Retirement Village on Sunday 15 June 2025. Much loved wife of Sam of 65 years. Loving mother and mother-in-law to Denise and Geoff, Linda and John, Brett and Lisa, Susan and Paul, Matthew and Linda. Amazing Grandma to Rachel, Sarah, James, Christopher, Samuel and Isaac. Cecily was an incredible sister, sister-in-law, aunty, cousin and friend to many. A private cremation is being held. No doubt Ces is already busy catching up with all her friends and family that have gone before. Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Edmund Hillary and Auckland Hospital Ward 67 for looking after our wonderful mum. A memorial service to celebrate and remember Cecily will be held at All Saints Chapel, Purewa Cemetery on Wednesday 25th June at 10.00am.

To the Simeti family. So glad we could make it today to remember who I have always thought of Aunty Ces. A bright, happy, person who bought much happiness to us when we lived next door at Flanders Street. It's the end of an era, love to the family, especially Sam, after 65 yrs together. Aunty Ces, you made a difference to my life, thank you.

Hello Simeti whanau, passing on Leah, Lily, Eddie and Elsie's condolences to Aunty Ces'. I have fond Memories of visiting Cecily as a little girl, and also when she would come to visit us. She was a very kind, gentle and generous lady.
