Catriona ARAMAKI Obituary

ARAMAKI, Catriona (Katy). 1976 - 2023 Died peacefully after a devastating short illness on 24 March 2023. Dearly loved wife of Maki and treasured mother to Shou, Marina and Ryu. She will be missed so much by her siblings Elanor, Sarah and Sam and held in loving memory with their late parents, Alison and Iain MacDonald and her baby brother, Iain Richard. Katy was a wonderful friend to many, a loved and respected English teacher and translator, and a much enjoyed writer about her life that transcended her dual homes in New Zealand and Japan. The deep love and respect for Katy was evident by the hundreds who attended her funeral near her home town of Kunimi on 26 March 2023. A memorial service will be held by the MacDonald family in Oturehua, New Zealand at a later date. All messages and communications to Sarah Lamb, [email protected]

I'm so sad to hear this news. I never met Katy, but as a big fan of her blog I felt close to her experiences.
My condolences to her family, both in New Zealand and Japan.
