At the Wellington Polytechnic School of Design in the late 1960's, Kate was a well-loved and inspired teacher for many of us. She later became an engaging and highly sought-after friend.
Always a great conversationalist with her wide-ranging knowledge, interests and experiences, Kate also often challenged our opinions on various concepts. This made for stimulating debate!
Kate's teaching came a full circle 30 years on when some of our children enjoyed and benefited from her classes at the School of Design in the 1990's. My son Julian was one of them.
Go well, Kate

Kate was a long and loyal member of the Friends of the Turnbull Library, a frequent attender at our public speaking events and at 95, still making the trip into Wellington in late 2024. Always cheerful and positive.

Kate was a huge inspiration to so many, a teacher, artist, tramper and friend. Great memories of Orongorongo days, she made the world a better place.
