My brother Chris and I always had a good time together when we stayed with Cathy and Roger. I remember going on the back of their father´s truck when he took a bobby calf to the abbatoir. There were the four of us children, the calf, and the dog called Shaggy. I found it all very exciting, coming from the city.
Cathy and I were both very keen on horses, her interest in them lasted all her life. We used to buy a racing magazine called "Hoofbeats" in which there was always a poster of a horse which we put on our respective bedroom walls.
On our visits to NZ, Francis and I always saw Cathy and Max, sometimes staying with them. We are so pleased we saw them a year ago. Max cooked a lovely meal, and Cathy and I looked at family photos. Cousin Penny

My sister Penny and I had a number of pleasant stays at Ranfurly Road, Manurewa, with our cousins Cathy and her brother Roger, when we were young. Some of our memories are of the four of us cleaning the eggs the hens had laid that day, and the lively conversations we had together; of helping in the cowshed after milking; of driving Cathy to Takanini where she was teaching when I was staying with them one time; of Cathy's wedding to Max early in 1963. It was always good to catch up with Cathy and Max from time to time over the years.

May you be in a place where roses glow, their petals wide to catch the glistening dew, as the beauty of the new day banishes the dark oppressive night.
May you be in a place where white horses dance, with flowing manes and soft obsidian eyes, lifting you to that transcendent state, as if to float upon a cloud.
May you be in a place where music fills the heavens and beyond, the hearts of all who ever were, connected in eternal harmony.
Kind and gentle Cathy, lover of all things beautiful, you'll be so missed by all whose lives you touched

Cathy was a loyal member of our book club for over 40 years. We will always have fond memories of Cathy´s love of reading, gardening, horses and singing. She was such a kind, unassuming and friendly person, whose scones and muffins were famous. Rest in peace, dear Cathy.

Aunty Cathy's holiday escapades were nothing short of epic! From dawn till dusk, she had enough energy to power a small village. Whether it was feeding calves, picking kiwi fruit, or embarking on exhilarating horseback adventures, Aunty Cathy's zest for life was contagious. And let's not forget my shining moment - the ceremonious task of cleaning the ceramic stove top. Oh, the pride I felt in my newfound importance!
Pony club days with Jenny and her horses "Pebbles" "Pete" and later "Bart," were my favourites. They were my heroes, and every ride was a thrilling adventure that left me spellbound.
Greg's motocross was fun! With mud and determination etched on his face, he tackled every twist and turn with unwavering courage. And that one magical moment when I sat behind the wheel of Greg's beautiful car, I pretended to be a racing champion - pure bliss!
Jacqui, the epitome of sophistication and maturity, had us in awe with her chic Auckland flat and her effortlessly cool boyfriend, Brent. She was living the dream, and we couldn't help but admire her!
But amidst all the excitement and adventure, it was the holidays spent with Aunty Cathy, for Kerry, and me that will forever hold a special place in our heart. Those moments of laughter, love, and togetherness are treasures I will carry with me always. Aunty Cathy may be gone, but her spirit lives on in the countless memories we created.. Forever in our hearts, forever remembered with a smile.
