What a large empty space you are leaving! A wonderful friend who always saw the sunshine making the rain glitter. The memories are so many, over the nearly-20 years: the goose-stepping in Vienna, the several choirs we sang in together, the caravan-transport scheme, twice, the confidences and the support for the challenges of life. I loved your boldness finding your father. You loved colour and making beautiful objects, and you gave beauty and colour to all you met. It´s going to be so sad not to be texting/phoning regularly or sharing wonderful meals. I´ll still hear your voice, though, and I´ll count all the rows of emojis in your messages. Now dance and sing in heaven with Dick and all your ancestors! Much love.

Sue and Dick were long-time friends of my late parents Don and Antonia Barnes. Sue was a kind and gracious person who was generous, open and someone who really loved life. My heartfelt condolences to Steph and Katie and families.

Thank you, Sue, for this beautiful, lasting lesson to `embrace the imperfect´ in our fabric art, and yes, in other aspects of life. I will always cherish the time you took to teach me embroidery techniques, and I carry your hope that this craft will continue with the younger generations. You are an inspiration for positive thinking and creativity...
