Carol SANDERS Obituary

SANDERS, Carol. Born October 3, 1929. Passed away peacefully on 4 November 2021. Eldest daughter of the late Lillian Eleanor Kusabs of Matamata and the late Thearn Earl Sanders of Hawaii (USN retired). Adored and wise mother of Weston, Lillian and Melanie. Loving grandmother of Phoebe, Charlie, Phillip and Jeremy. Dear sister of John (Bud), and the late Janice and Tom. Caring Aunt to Amy, Janelle and Julie; Jason and Richard; Jennifer, Christopher and Michael. The best mother-in-law to Tanya and Shane, and supportive of the extended family including Matthew and Dusty. A friend to many. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Donations in lieu of flowers to SPCA, Bird Rescue or Forest and Bird. Aloha sweet ladybug.

Sending my sincerest sympathy to all Carols family on the loss of this beautiful and kind woman. I was fortunate to have known her, as the sister of my best friend John Sanders.

Civic Trust Auckland

Carol was a secretary of Civic Trust Auckland and has been described as irrepressible by a former president. The current Board of CTA offers its condolences to Carol's family and acknowledges not only her longstanding role as secretary (1980-1984 and 2004-2009) but her contribution to social occasions.

Carol was a life member of CTA and an efficient and energetic secretary. She worked with an interim board when the trust was coming out of a period of recess. Her more recent work included compiling data for the original website of the organisation.

She is seated on the left in the photo, at one of CTA's garden parties, in the grounds of Kinder House, Parnell.
