Carl Duff Obituary
Carl Leroy Duff, 83, passed away quietly at his Yukon home on Aug. 13, 2010, after a long illness. Carl was a highly moral and ethical man who believed his word was his bond and he never broke it. After high school, Carl served two years in the Army and was honorably discharged in 1947. He married his beloved Norma Jean Hames in September 1950. The two remained deeply in love for the next 53 years, until Norma's passing in 2003. Carl believed in hard work and an honest living. He dedicated 34 years of his life to Hughes Aircraft Corp. before retiring in 1989. Carl is survived by his daughter, Lori Shelton, of Yukon; grandchildren: Teri and Kevin Marshall of Healdton, Kari and Caleb Derrick of Edmond, Adria and Waldo Mercader of Waldorf, MD, and Hunter Shelton of Yukon; great-grandchildren: Brandon, Mollie, Harrison, Kylie, Brookelyn, Remington, and Lukas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cora Austin, and siblings Irene Brown and Wiley Duff, wife Norma Duff, and a son, Charles Duff. Visitation will be from 2-6 pm Tuesday at OK Cremation & Mortuary, 2415 N. Walnut Ave., Oklahoma City. Funeral service will be Wednesday at 2 pm in The Chapel at OK Cremation & Mortuary.
