Carl BRADLEY Obituary

BRADLEY, Carl Meredith. Lately of Wellington. Unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, 27 May 2021, aged 51. Beloved partner of Aida and father of Joshua and Shahade. Much loved son of the late Richard Meredith Bradley and step-son of Jeannine Anne Bradley. Loved brother and brother-in-law of Meredith and Declan, Jacqui and Andrew, and of Peter, Jillian, Geoff and Kathy. Adored uncle of Doyle, Caitlin and Eabha and many more extended family. Dearly loved friend of Carol, Roddy, Nick and too many more to mention. Carl will be deeply missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered for his infectious sense of humour, his gentleness, courage and honour and his deep love for his family. 'What you leave behind is not what is engraved in stone monuments, but what is woven into the lives of others.'

From the Committee and Members of Clan Macdonald, Yarraville - we send our heart-felt condolences and sympathy to Carl's family, to all Clan Donald members and friends. Carl was as large as life and had so very much to give. We know how sadly he will be missed by you all. Some are just taken from us far too early. We in Australia will miss Carl too. I can see more than hear, the sentiment and love for Carl in the service. I would love to have been with you all today. Tom Macdonald - Clan Chief.

Oh Carl, I am so sorry that you have been taken from us so soon. I will always be grateful to have had you in my life and for the fun and friendship we shared over the years as family and friend! Sending love to all of Carl’s family and friends at this time. The world seems a little less bright without you in it. XX

Our thoughts go out to all of Carl's family and friends at this very sad time.
Carl was very much part of our family for over three decades.
A friend that always kept in touch and visited regularly regardless of how far he had to travel.
Will be sadly missed by all.

Class Of CRIM326

June 1, 2021

The student of CRIM326 sends Dr Bradley's family our condolences. He was an amazing teacher that made learning exciting and he taught many of us to not only believe in ourselves but to love our degree. As third years we will continue to honour his legacy when we all walk across the stage as many of us would have not made it without Carl. You will be missed dearly in the criminology department. And we thank you for guiding us through a difficult paper and making it enjoyable.

I am very sad to hear about this. I was fortunate to know Carl in my capacity as a member of the History Programme at Massey University. Carl taught 148.114 Making new Zealand for me one semester when I was on research leave. We had many discussions about history and possible outlets for publishing his work. Carl's book Outlaw Bikers and Ancient Warbands will be published in August, a fitting tribute to his scholarship. Carl was a compassionate man who at one point combined his scholarly career with coordinating caregiving for people in need. He will be greatly missed.
