Not only you flew planes well, you rode motorbikes too

My mother Pamela Warburton spoke of you often and how she got to ride your motorbike. And when you became NZs top test pilot you flew over her home in Waiheke island.

Dearest Barry, and from my closest association, most heartfelt love to Emma, Hannah, Jeanette, Daniel. Sending my regards and love also to all of the Gordon family in unity.
Barry you seemed to be always smiling with your eyes and looking for a cheeky moment or laugh to be had.
I fondly remember being delivered poached eggs in a pool of baked beans on toast in bed while on sleepovers with Emma.
So many wonderful memories of times spent at the family home in Siota crescent as we grew up.
I am ever grateful and blessed to have been akin to the Gordon team. Sending you all, Love, Light and wings of grace for the journey home, Love, Rosie

To Barry's family, our sincere condolences for an absolut legend in the Aviation World. I was invited to one of the famous ANZ Crew Parties at the White Heron Lodge in Wellington (!967). I had just started my training to obtain my Private Pilots License and it was an honour to speak to such an experienced Captain from Air NZ. The beauty was that he was interested in me and encouraged me to continue with my Flying lessons and go further to get my Commercial Pilot License and to apply for a job at ANZ. Sadly by the time I finished my traing at the Wanganui Flying School, the bottom had dropped out of aviation in NZ. But he inspired me so much that via, via, I finished up being hired by Emirates Airlines in Dubai, in the first group of Pilots to be employed (1987) and I worked my way up to Chief Training Captain Airbus. I worked for them for 25 years and then retired. Thank you for inpiring me Barry. Have a safe flight to wherever you my venture to go.

Cees van Dooren.
