ROBERTSON, Bruce. The family of Bruce Robertson wish to thank and acknowledge all those who came to visit, messaged, called, and sent love during out difficult time. It was amazing to see the support of family and friends, far and wide, and especially the rugby community who helped however they could. From the bottom of our hearts, thanks so very much.

Dear Robertson Family
On behalf of the Corban Family Whangarei, I extend our heart felt sympathy at your loss. He was greatly cherished by my dad and our family, and was a pallbearer at his funeral in 1982.
Dad enjoyed his company immensely when he was a wine rep. and I can well imagine the football exchanges would have been well worth listening into.
In my dad's eyes he was on a par with Ron Jarden.
"Prince of Centres" doesn't even begin to cover what an incredible person he was, and for me the Ghandi quote is what I take away from his passing.

Dear Nellue and whanau
Was a privilege to be with you all today as you farewelled your beloved Bruce. I´ll always remember his kindness and generosity in helping me understand the nuances of rugby particularly in my early days at Auckland Rugby. Bruce is free to soar above and watch over you now, bless him. I hope your memories of your `special person´ wrap around you tight as you navigate the days and times ahead. With warm wishes, Tracey

Dear Nellie and family,

Please accept my sincerest condolences. I started school with Robbo at Mahora as a five year old and we played allot of rugby and cricket together in our school days. It was a privilege to grow up with him and have him as a great friend. There are so many memories I have of time spent with him over the years. He was the most humble gentleman you could meet. I feel very sad I cannot be there today but my thoughts are with you and Robbo today.

Dearest Nellie and family. I had the pleasure of having Bruce (Mr Robertson those days) being my teacher @ Papakura Intermediate and I was 12. He was a fantastic teacher and man. I caught up with Bruce a number of times over the years at various rugby functions and we laughed a lot about those earlier years. I remember the students v. Teachers in a game of Rugby where, I sidestepped Mr Robertson and scored a try. I said, I've never scored a try against an All Black? Years went by and we bought each other a beer and reflected on those great years some 47 years ago. Kia kaha.

I recall fond memories as a young fella sitting on the bank at Pukekohe watching Bruce play for the mighty Counties. Such anticipation in the crowd when he had the ball in hand, he was my favourite player. In my later years I worked at the NRU when Bruce was there. I told him he was my rugby idol, he was so humble and we laughed. Bruce was such a really nice guy and a great rugby player. My thoughts go out to all of Bruce's loved ones.
