The outpouring of aroha for Brook at your home from the 25th through to the service show how deeply and widely he was loved and how that love extends to you Mel, Simon and Finn. The many people who flowed in to support you - those who tended to our wellbeing by making sure nourishing kai was always on the table, clearing away, zipping backwards and forwards to the supermarket, doing the dishes; food and drink slipped quietly into the fridge; preparing the service; scanning photos; sitting and sleeping with Brook to companion him and you; the exquisite and aching service at the chapel including the heartfelt and powerful readings and testimonies and the special time at your home after the service; the karanga, haka and waiata; the karakia, blessings and wishes from those near and afar. Not to forget the family dogs and cats who showed the power of animals to help us heal. Deeply inscribed at the center of my soul is being witness to how you opened your arms to everyone Mel, Simon and Finn to allow love to begin to heal the pain and grief. Kia tau te rangimarie me te aroha ki a koutou – peace and love to you– Chellie XXXxxx

My children, Ash and Lara Morton, were at the Green Bay Schools with Brook. Ash was friends particularly at Intermediate but then they were all in the same Form Class at High School. Their last outing was to Harry Potter 4 or 5 together which he loved. He was lovely and kind and will be sorely missed. Our deepest sympathy is with Finn and Mum and Dad.

There is nothing I know that could compare to how you are all feeling at the moment, I hope that you are finding support and solace with your family and friends and that you know there are lots of people thinking about you and your family at this time.
