Bronwen INNES Obituary

INNES, Bronwen Margaret. On 1 January 2023. Dearly loved wife and soulmate of David Abbott and adored mother of Sam and Megan and their partners Alex and Leo. Much loved by her wider family and many friends. Respected for her work as a forensic linguist. At peace after a courageous fight with cancer. Her quiet, enveloping smile, her golden curls and her wonderful mind must now be treasured memories. Grateful thanks to her magnificent medical team and the wonderful carers at Mercy Hospice. Her funeral will be at St Matthew in the City at 1.30pm today Monday 9 January. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Mercy Hospice. Aroha Funerals 0800 276420

I am so sad to hear this tragic news. I worked with Bronwen over a number of years in Applied Language Studies and Linguistics at the University of Auckland. We had offices next to each other and collaborated on Forensic Linguistics work. She was a wonderful colleague.

Thinking of you all at this sad time.
Bronwen is a treasure lost, but will never be forgotten.

I was so sorry to read that Bronwen had passed away. Although we had lost touch I have very fond memories of fun times spent during school holidays at Westshore Napier with Bronwen Roberta and Ken..and of course Judith and Jeff. They were such carefree fun days.
My thoughts are with you all.
