Briar MCKEOWN Obituary

MCKEOWN, Briar Lindsay (previously Heron, nee Handley). We sadly announce the passing of Briar on Tuesday 28th November 2023, aged 88 years. Dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Cathy Heron and Lisa Howard- Smith, and Linzi (deceased) and Stephen Lloyd. Cherished grandmother of Briar and Thomas Lloyd. Loved sister of Kay Stovold, Gary Handley, Tony Handley, Peg Martinovich (deceased), Dawn Williams (deceased) and Brett Handley (deceased), and Aunty Briar to all their families. The Handley family genealogist and co-instigator in 2000 of the Handley Family Kauri Grove. Wife of Peter McKeown (Waipu) and Bryan Heron (Auckland). Briar was an avid golfer and life member of the Huapai Golf Club. "Don't remember me with sadness, don't remember me with tears. Remember all the good times that we've shared throughout the years." A celebration of Briar's life will be held at 10am on Wednesday 6th December at Morrisons Funeral Home, 220 Universal Drive, Henderson. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the West Auckland Hospice.
