Brian Wattie Watt - my condolences to his wife and family. We knew each other through rugby at MSP U21s and also cricket with Kilbirnie 2As. He was flatting in Oriental Bay at the time and was moving from the Reserve Bank to the BNZ when we lost contact. I heard the news through a mutual friend late 2016. Once again my sincere condolences on your loss - taken so young.

Beautiful Liz, and your lovely family. I am so saddened to hear of Brian's passing. He was much adored by the rowing family; also because he was so generous, allowing us to share so much time with you. My heart also goes out to Victoria. A father daughter bond is a very precious thing. I can still feel the joy of it 38 years after my dads passing. You may not see him, but he will always be there guiding you. A love that strong can never be broken. All our love, The Freeman's, Jacqueline, Mackenzie & Hunter xxo

Dear Liz & family,
I was so sad to hear the news of Brian's death. My heart goes out to you. Like Dick, I too have many fond memories of those times on 'L21' with 'Wattie' & the crew. He took me under his wing... And I think I could have almost mastered the perfect golf putt just from the number of times he demonstrated the move while chatting away! He was a lovely man, always had a smile & a friendly word. My thoughts are with you, Louise (Tong).

Dear Liz and Family, we are so shocked and saddened to hear that Brian lost his battle with cancer. We have very fond memories of him during the time we lived in Khandallah. The Friday nights he would come home after a long day at work and find the neighbors and their many children gathered at his house. Mothers with wine in hand, children running riot and no sign of dinner anywhere, he would greet us with kindness and humor and join in. I think of this time with Brian, you Liz, and your family with great fondness. I wish you strength, courage and love.

The fond memories of him as my first boss and all the great times experienced in Wgtn at the BNZ level 21 are flooding back. I am forever grateful to have had the opportunity to work with him and to learn so much from him over this time. He will be missed. Dick (still BNZ) and Cate (Wgtn)
