I have immense respect for Brian, a real character. He did so much for short-handed sailing and was always a gracious host when he invited me to cover various events. I still remember interviewing him over the phone when he was in hospital in Australia following the loss of Green Hornet. A week later and he still hadn't warmed up. My sincere condolences to Erica and family, with love from Rebecca xx

I am overseas and was deeply saddened to hear of Brian´s passing and that I would miss his final voyage. I did my first offshore race with Brian on Green Hornet and remember the plan to sail back to NZ after the Melbourne to Osaka race an adventure that never happened! I will miss our catch ups over lunch. All the best my old friend and may you have fair winds to make your future voyages safe and comfortable.
