Oh dear, this is such sad news. Brian and I were close friends at Casebrook. I have very, very fond memories. While we went in different directions after that, he was important during that time and I valued his friendship and support enormously. All my love to his family.

We've known Brian for some 40 years from Varsity life in Auckland. Our memories are of his passion for music, motorbikes, cricket and road trips. In recent times we've shared many laughs and stories. Goodbye Old Friend - you will not be forgotten for your stoic nature, empathy, sharp wit and sense of humour.

On future tramping trips I will miss your wisdom, the interesting lunchtime conversations about what makes the world go around, your keen sense of humor but mostly I will just miss your company.
So as you have once again beaten me to the top of the hill and probably nicked the best bunk in the "big DOC hut in the sky" the very least you can do is put the billy on for a cup of tea when you see me coming into view on my last tramp.

So sad to hear of Brian's passing. I want you all to know, Bob has a devoted new "Mum",has settled in really well. She is so friendly, and has behaved so well. I now have a friend again after loosing my boy Tim last year. I hope Brian will know she is in a very loving home. Regards , Judith Venning.

So sorry to hear of Brian´s passing.
Thinking of family at this sad time.
Remembering childhood years when our families (Jen and Al Vaughan) spent many happy times together.
Irene (Brian´s Mum) was a "Special Lady".
R.I.P. Brian
