COOKE, Brian (Cookie). On 14 November in Wanaka aged 81 years. Adored husband of Devon, dearly loved father of Bergendy and Abi, and grandfather to Josh, Anouk, Siena and Kiki P. He was a multitalented being, a consummate sports person, a lifeguard of Muriwai Surf Club in his younger years, Otago, NZ University and Waitemata rugby player in NZ, as well as London Welsh in the UK . He was a strong tennis and squash player as well as a single handicap golf player. His love of the mountains extended to a passion for tramping and skiing, which he continued into his late 70s His talents were also creative, he became a locally well- known potter, a self taught stone and brick mason and a keen gardener. He served his community for many years as a dentist in Rangiora and as a St John's Ambulance officer in Wanaka in his later years. But most importantly he was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather who supported his family, always caring, kind and loyal and never judgemental. We will miss immensely the beautiful soul that he was, but will treasure the memories of the wonderful man that he has been to us all. We all adored him. Rest peacefully Cookie. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Cookie's life at a later date in the new year.
