Dear Huston & Batie Families.

We had hoped to travel to Auckland to be with you on Sunday 14th, but illness has prevented that plan.

As part of the original Ward family, always remember the wonderful parties & gatherings we enjoyed with Brian's parents, Trevor & Connie and our Batie cousins in Christchurch.

Over recent years, keep in contact with Brian regarding our family gemology and his generous sharing of information was always appreciated.

With sincere thought to our extended families in the North and South, on the loss of one of life's true gentlemen,

Peter & Dawn Spence, Te Awamutu.

To the Christchurch Family of the late Brian Batie ,condolences from Ian Weir and family. I played soccer with Brian back in 1953 1954 etc, my father was also involved as our coach, we lived in Woolston and knew the Batie Family well ,especially as my mother had the local Dairy in Randolph Street for many years well into the her 80s . So all the memoirs flood back , on reading the passing of Brian back to our teenage years growing up .
