There are so many warm memories of times spent with Brett in the early days - and later.

I met Brett at Kelston Boys High School. We shared many classes, and much of our youth together - adventuring and learning of what life had to offer.
Brett was always interested in discovering and learning of new things and adventure. There were many adventures on land and water - the bush, the beaches, rivers, estuaries and sea. At all hours of the day and the night ...
From a storm-tossed West Coast, to Midnight photography in the Waitakeries, exploring the Waitemata, radio and chemistry experiments in Brett's bedroom, motorbike building, Karting, skiing - and shipwreck, on the Whau River. There was so, so much in those years.

Brett was a great mate, and I reflect warmly on our growing up together, and discovering what life had to offer.

To say Brett made a success of his life is a very significant understatement. During his years he met a great number of people, touched many lives, and left the world a better place for far more than a few.
His loss is cruel - all the more so because of the large space he leaves behind, but for the many whose lives have interacted with Brett's, he will live on. There is a little part of Brett in us all.

Thank you Brett - for the adventures and the blessing of having you as a mate over all of those years. Our lives led us to different directions - and countries, but we have always maintained contact, and there has always been a warm welcome.

Our hearts go out to Helen, Alister, family and friends - Brett will remain in all of our hearts.

Although I only worked with Brett for a short time I learnt a huge amount from him, thoroughly enjoyed his sense of humour and greatly respected his integrity and decency which he displayed everyday. Travel well Brett!

His wisdom which he shared so kindly during lunchtime catch ups working with him. Plentiful work stories also he would share over good laughs at work.
