Very sorry to hear that Brendan had passed away. I went right through Marist with him and like others remember him as a quiet person with a ready smile. My condolences to his family.

Sad news of Brendan. He was a great school-friend to a kid from the country. I remember him well as a caring and good natured guy.
My sympathy, prayers and blessings go to all the family.

Thinking of you all at this time of losing Brendan. I remember him as a shy younger person with his aviary of finches and other birds in the back yard, and taking the time to show them to us when we visited. At a university student he was tall and curly haired and loved contemporary music. Much later when he was home with Pat he made tea and biscuits and talked of how fond he was of his life at Miller Street. He was a gentle soul, and shared his politics and thoughts freely. He will be missed. Much love, Pam Smith, Sydney

I was so sad to learn of the passing of Brendan. I remember starting school together at St Pat's Primary and going right through to the end of Marist Secondary. Discussing English and Geography homework in front of the hot stove in Millar Street, working at the Freezing Works during school Christmas holidays and holidaying and working at the hotel on Stewart Island in our Form 6 year. Learning and playing the guitar together. So many good memories. Brendan was always warm, humorous, kind and gentle.
My sympathies to Gavan and Barbara, Kieran, Stephen and Bernadette.
