Blair MORRIS Obituary

My first memories of Mark were at the big Sinclair family gatherings at Hauraki Road, Takapuna. Everyone seemed to be talking at once and large amounts of food and drink were always available. I perceived a particular bond as we were both the eldest sons of much respected Sinclair fathers. This was reinforced by commentaries by Jack on the responsibilities of the eldest children.
After I shifted out of Auckland and later Mark moved to Canada, it became much harder to maintain contact. We managed to get together once for a lovely dinner at Darling Harbour in Sydney. Additionally, Barbara and I were lucky enough to be able to call in on a large family gathering at Mark and Leslie´s home in Mt Eden in later years. This all reminds me that our relationship, although physically distant is still very important and we all come from the same roots. In the great ship Sinclair, friends are the sails, but family is the anchor.
As others have alluded to here, I remember Mark as exuding that quiet strength and being very supportive of family, friends and his profession.
I am very sorry for your loss after Mark´s short illness.

Mark was a very special man - brilliant mind, wicked sense of humour, fiercely loyal and supportive to family and friends, and a strong advocate for children and families. He touched many with his quiet strength. The world feels a little darker without him in it. Deepest condolences and much love to Leslie and family.

Mark will always be remembered warmly by our family. We were fortunate to have known him and Leslie as neighbours and friends during their time in Cornwall, Canada, and my mother truly cherished their friendship over the years, including her visit to New Zealand. From our family to yours, we send our heartfelt condolences.

We have always thought of Mark as a gentle-natured and thoughtful individual who cared deeply about others. Our connection went back many years to Cornwall, Ontario where our children attended school together. Then, a visit to the Sinclair family in New Zealand showed how strongly he was part of that place and the significant role he played in his family. A good soul who will be remembered fondly.

A great friend from childhood onwards and a steady watchful presence who's been there at important moments. Thank you Mark, I'll miss you 'being there'. Much love to all the family.
