I was her step- daughter after she married my dad when I was about 12. Visited Napier and used to stay in their Hillsborough home with Paul. A lovely lady that nourished my desire to be a teacher and such beautiful eyes. I remember the wedding in clive . RIL with your sons xx Fiona Upton

Dear Betty. You lived a full and exciting life. Your students were lucky to have you as their teacher and we were lucky to have you as a mentor and wonderful friend. Rest in peace dear lady xx

I knew Betty her whole life, born the same year. Our mothers (mine Marjorie) too knew each other their whole lives too growing up as neighbours in Herne Bay and attending same schools, church, Girl Guides.
My family's farm was where they came to stay every Easter. Betty became my good friend over the years until separated by age.
My profound sympathy to all as she will be much missed. I would love contact with one of you all.

Betty, you were such an inspiration to me in the classroom, full of fun and great ideas. The children you taught were so lucky to have had that start with you. Thank you for being so generous with your time and talents. Rest easy with your lovely boys xx
