Love and prayers to Noreen, Bronagh, Eamon and Kassie. Bernard, such fun we had growing up as cousins and friends.. socials and playing cards at the Irish club, parties, wild times at Piha.. Throughout your challenges you always had beaming smile, wicked sense of humour and I always enjoyed your friendship. Rest now.

So saddened to hear of your passing Bernard. I will fondly remember the happy times that we shared together as our young families were growing up. Whenever I would see you, which was quite often back then, you would thrust out your hand with a huge grin on your face, and proceed to squeeze the blood out of mine. I would usually submit to your "gorilla grip" handshake.
You were always upbeat and cheerful, despite the many challenges that you faced since the car accident. Your kind and gentle soul was always apparent and appreciated; as too was your great sense of humour.
Go well, my old brother-in-law and friend.
Paul

Rest in peace, Bernard. You were a kind and gentle Uncle with a wicked sense of humour. We will always remember your bravery, your quiet resilience, and your courage, alongside your perfectly delivered one liners. We have very happy memories of time spent with you at your home in Massey, when we were kids, with Rory. Lots of laughs and fun there. Thank you for everything, you were a good man and will be missed by all of us. Love, Sarah & Simone xxx

Farewell Bernard our family soldier who was so well loved by us all, living his life quietly behind the scenes. Your fabulous one liners kept us laughing, a wonderful brother to me especially in our teenage years together. Rest in Peace Bernard, you were a fine example of how to be.
