I felt like an empty balloon when I heard the news, I was devastated. I have known Ben for many years since SCW and when he started his own business as he was our chartered accountant for our business. He always solved a complicated situation with determination and was eager to find the best solution for us. His professionalism and knowledge was admirable. He will be sorely missed and we send our sincerest condolences to his family.

I was so devastated to hear of Ben's passing, such tragic news. I worked with Ben at Gosling Chapman and quickly developed a wonderful friendship with him that I will treasure forever. He was hilarious, clever, highly successful, a straight shooter, and a good friend. He loved his family and was so proud of them all xxx Thinking of all those who knew Ben, especially his beautiful family. Rest in peace Ben

Ben was one of the best - Witty, genuine, intense!. I'm forever grateful I had the pleasure of knowing him in the early days of our CA career at Gosling Chapman. Regular secret smokes in the basement carpark & absconding for long lunches at the bar. Rest well Ben & hope you are taking Silver Cloud out for another spin.

Oh Gosh Ben, gone way too soon, the time you had you made people smile, feel important and valued, you were professional, a family man, the best cousin ever :). I loved meeting with you at work, we always laughed, and you made accounting understandable. We always shared family stories and loved chatting about the wonderful characters in our families, It's soo hard to believe I wont be able to walk into Blackler Smith and co to get the best hug from you, you might be gone, but never forgotten XXXXX

This came as a huge shock to me, Ben has been my accountant for a number years from when I first started my business at 17. Being young Ben was a great mentor and role model for me and always took the time to give me well rounded advice and support. Ben was also always great to talk to and took a interest in what I was doing and always gave me compliments on my work ethic and skills that meant a huge amount coming from him. I thank you for your support in my younger years and helping me in my early years of business. My deepest condolences to the family.

I just couldn't believe it when I heard the news on Friday. Ben was our accountant for over 20 years - we were constantly exchanging notes about family bike rides, tramps and adventures. The quarterly catch ups around the boardroom table never stayed to the task on hand - Ben was so interested in people and places. Always with a smile on his face and a lovely calm demeanor - he will be missed.

Really sorry to have heard the news of Ben's sudden passing. Our thoughts are with his family, friends and work family at this time. Ben was a great guy and an outstanding accountant. We always loved working with him, especially when Blair and Ben started their own business together all those years ago. His knowledge, guidance and 100% support of our business was second to none and we thank him for this commitment. We loved catching up with Ben when we had our meetings over the accounts each year. He will be sadly missed by so many people.

What a devastating day Thursday was when we heard the tragic news about Ben. Our deepest condolences to his family. Ben was not only a great business adviser to us but also a friend and our regular talks always started and ended with our life stories and experiences. Often we would have to call each other back because we didn´t actually tackle the business issue that we both wanted to discuss. It was an honour calling him a friend and we will miss him greatly. Clayton and Ali Young.
