Johnson, Basil Terence. JOHNSON, Basil Terence, QSM Retired Senior Sergeant, New Zealand Police. Passed away peacefully on Saturday 7 February 2026, surrounded by his whānau. Treasured husband of the late Imelda (née Douglas). Much-loved father of Garth, Mark (deceased), Craig, Maree and Warrick. Father-in-law to Yvonne, Rob and Julie. Koro to Taimanu, Caleb; Lizzie and Therese; Baxter, Felicity, Crawford, Virginia, Quentin, Everard and Ambrose. Great-grandfather to Tiani, Mads; Ava, Niko and Rylah. Basil is resting at 35 State Highway 33, RD4, Tikitere, Rotorua. Ope/visitation times are 11am and 2pm on Wednesday. Please join us to celebrate Basil's life at a Requiem Mass to be held on Thursday 12 February at 11am, at St Michael's Church, 5 Lake Road, ?hinemutu.
