Farewell Barry, I flew with you on the old 146 and this all happened a bit too soon. You taught me a lot.

To Gaye and Family,
Our thought and prayers are for you as you mourn the loss of Barry. May God comfort you.
I remember the "good old days" as a fellow Air Niugini pilot, flying the Fokkers together with Barry.
On behalf of those of us old-timers still working for Air Niugini we send our heartfelt condolences.

Dear Gaye, very shocked to hear the sad news. Barry was a true gentleman and a brilliant pilot. Will always remember his many visits to Middlemore hospital armed with his laptop, showing Gordon his aviation articles and projects. We will always cherish the time you both took us to the South Island after Gordon had his stroke (the one and only time he has been on an aircraft since that debilitating stroke), the laughs we had on the Tranz Alpine, Barry's very patient driving through the west coast.... and then both your many visits to see us at home. We would often go through the photos of our trip and reminisce about the fun we had. Please accept our deepest sympathy and our thoughts are with you and your family,

Thank you to those who have shared their memories. Barry re-wrote a favourite bible passage last week, I hope you enjoy it.
"Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell me if you have understanding.
Who determined its measurements, who stretched the line upon it, surely you know!
On what were its bases sunk, who do you think laid its cornerstone? When we understand this, all the morning stars will sing together and the sons and daughters of God will shout for joy."
You are welcome to join us in Pauanui on the 19th of July to celebrate Bazza's birthday and very precious life.

To Gaye and family.
It is with sadness that I received the news about Barry.
It has been many years since we last saw each other as we all drifted off to different places, but my memories of our days in PNG will always be cherished.Peter Berbakov Muscat Oman

Barry !!!You no longer need wings and engines. Your own built in wings will take you where ever and when ever you want to go and they will never tire you. But I suspect, that having now met our Heavenly Father, Jesus, Mary Joseph and all the Saints, you wont want to be flying too far away from them any time soon. But if you, do give me a few low passes as I think that I will need all the help I can get to join you up there.

To Dad,
There was so much I wanted to speak with you about and so much that I should have spoken with you about. Now all I feel I want to say is thankyou.
Thankyou for all that you did for me.
Thankyou for taking me in and allowing me to be a part of your beautiful family. You, they saved me!
Bon and Pa loved me and treated me like their own. They introduced me to a loving and big God and began my understanding of what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I am still learnig and not fast enough some might say.
They had a profound effect on Fern (as they did on everyone who met them) and I am certain gave Fern the confidence and courage to commit to me knowing what a beautiful family stood behind me and what she was getting into. Fern was fond of you as she is of your sisters some of which she counts amongst her dearest friends.
Thank you for your support when we came upon rocky times. She is the apple of my eye; my best friend and soul mate and really the making of me. She is the most fabulous mother of your 9 grandchildren from mr, and grandmother to your 3 almost 4 great grandchildren. It brings us such joy and pleasure to see our children (your grandchildren) mixing with your sibling's children and grandchildren and knowing that they understand that they are a part of a large, caring and loving family.
Thankyou for supporting me through Auckland Grammar and Law School.
Thankyou for always believing in me even when, at times, I had trouble believing in myself. Thankyou for always encouraging me and treating me with respect. Thank you for your recent kind words and affirmation of me, Fern and my beutiful children.
I relise, probably too late, that I am going to miss you.
