I have only just read the news; my greetings and heartfelt condolences to his family. I always remebered him as a warm and caring person with endless Patience when again I had done a musical mistake - and will always do so.

Barry was conductor of "Friends of Art" at every saturday morning in Enschede, The Netherlands, for more than a decade. He was one of the most generous coaches for an amateur barock orchestra; It was felt by each of its players. We missed Barry as he left for going to his beloved Auckland. However, now we know that he left for ever, we miss him ever more.

May he be in peace and joy

Piet Kommers
concert master of Friends of Art and the Hengelo Operette Vereniging.
