Barry COWLING Obituary

COWLING, Barry Ramon. Passed away unexpectedly at his home in Whangamata, on 22nd October, 2024. Barry was a much loved husband and best friend of Rosie, much loved Dad of Ryan and Shaan and adored father-in-law of Jenna, and Nathan. Treasured Poppa of Peyton, Maddison and Lara. Good buddy of Jano. 'Our rock gone forever, deeply missed.' A celebration of Barry's life will be held at The Whangamata Club, 404 Port Road, on Tuesday 29th October, at 1pm, followed by private cremation. Barry did it all in the words of Kipling's 'If'. He was that... If all about were losing it - he kept his head. Such a great guy was our loved Brother in Law. In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

What a shock to receive the news of Barry passing. Barry was a working on the same building site when I first started with Hawkins in March 1977. I was privilaged to work with Barry and get to know him personally many times after that. When I celebrated my 45 years of service with Hawkins in 2022, I was humbled and it was very special to have Barry and Rose there. So I feel very gutted that I'm unable to attend Barry's final farewell. My heart goes out to Rose and Barry's family at this sad time. Jim Davis
