Unbelievably sad to hear Barrie passed away.
Cherished memories of great times long ago are treasures. My condolences to all the family Barrie was a true friend and gentleman.

Only just heard. Barrie was a visionary and a gentleman. Godspeed, mate.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Barrie's passing. He was an extraordinarily generous man, with both his time and his money. In the 1990s Dave Gapes and I approached Barrie for a koha towards the funeral costs of a once-prominent NZ entertainer who had died penniless. Send me the bill, was Barrie's response. Generous, as I say. Barrie Everard was a good good man and fun company. Condolences to the Everard whanau. I roto I te mahara o te tangata nui . . .

RIP Barrie. I recall the first time I met you, when in the film industry - Haurad Filmns (4th flr Caltex House) and the Everard Films (Tamaki Drive) you use to come in often to have meetings with the late Maurice Urlich in the early days of South Pacific Television. Our paths crossed again when you came into SKY Sports to have a meeting with the late Martin Crowe who was wanting your recommendation on a Producer/Director for 'The Chosen One....' series.
