Barrie COURTNEY Obituary

COURTNEY, Barrie Edwin . 2nd January 1934 - 23rd July 2025 It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Barrie, at the age of 91. Barrie had lived a full and eventful life. Leaving the Masterton Orphanage at the young age of 14, moving to Auckland and trained as a carpenter, whilst also an avid sportsman. Particularly wrestling, where he went on to represent NZ at the Commonwealth Games and World Championships,. He married Gaynor V Thomas and they had 3 children. Packed up their home and moved to Hawaii in 1967. Barrie become well known as a premium house builder and after 50 years retired back to NZ. Barrie is survived by his wife Gay, his children, Paul, Sherree and Kris, 5 Grandchildren and 5 great Grandchildren. Barrie will be remembered by family in a private service. Much Aloha, RIP Dad.
