Barbara WILLIAMS Obituary

WILLIAMS, Barbara Gaye (Gaye). Passed away 20 June 2025 at Harbour Hospice. Loving wife of John, devoted mother of Shane, Lee and Todd, Laurie and Wendy. Sister of Ian and Eve and aunty to Christine, Michael and David. Super nana to Keith, Dana, Teryl, Jesse, Isaac, Shiloh and Jack, and great nana extraordinaire. Gaye's family acknowledge the kindness of Harbour Hospice and encourage donations to support their wonderful work. A private cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1pm Friday 4 July at the Romaleigh Chapel, 31 Ocean View Road, Northcote, Auckland. This legendary tennis player will be missed by many.

I was deeply saddened to learn of dear Gaye's passing. She was a beautiful soul, an amazing tennis player especially during the years we played at Milford tennis club. I knew I was in trouble when she wound up for that tricky little drop shot which she used to great effect. We had so many laughs and I'll always remember her as a loyal, happy and very special friend. Sending my condolences and deepest sympathy to John and all her family.
