Barbara THOMPSON Obituary

THOMPSON, Barbara Ruth (Barb) (nee Saunders). Died Sunday 28th May 2023 aged 77 peacefully at home in Wanaka. Dearly loved and best friend of Graeme for nearly 54 years. Devoted mother and mother-in-law of Michael and JoJo (Auckland) and Lucy and Kate (Arrowtown). Cherished and much loved Granny Babs to six grandchildren Jasper, Kaija, Luca, Josie, Harvey and Janey. Loved sister and sister-in-law of Bill (deceased) and Catherine Saunders, Jan and John Gilbert, David and Christine Saunders, and Geoff and Maree Saunders and all the nieces and nephews. A great friend to many. Special thanks to the incredible carers from "second family" Penny's Home Care who went well beyond the call of duty. Thanks also to the team at Otago Hospice and Dr Fiona McLean. A funeral service and celebration of Barb's life will be held in St Columba's Anglican Church, 167 Upton Street, Wanaka at 2 00pm on Saturday June 3, followed by a private cremation.
