Barbara MCLEOD Obituary

MCLEOD, Barbara Joy. Passed away 13th November 2024, at Avondale Lifecare, aged 84. Much loved mother of Craig and Blair, and grandmother of Connor and Ferguson. Dear sister of Marilyn and Robyn and sister-in-law of Peter. Long loved partner of David and step-mum to Sharon, Quentin, Terry and Anita, and loved Nana Barb of Rebecca and Louise. She will be dearly missed.

Sad news re my old friend Barb. We first met in Auckland when I was 16 and she was 22. We had a big group of friends aged in between. 4 of us shared a flat in Townsville, Australia in 1966/67. In that time, 3 of us travelled in Barb´s little yellow mini from Mt Isa to Alice Springs, laughing all the way. It was like a dirt track in those days and a broken windscreen didn´t worry us at all! She and I travelled Townsville to Sydney in the same yellow mini. We stayed a few years before she returned to Auckland and I stayed in Australia. We had a great group of friends and many a laugh. Consequently, there are great memories. It is the end of an era. RIP Barb. Thinking of you Blair. Kind regards.
