Barbara HARDLEY Obituary

HARDLEY, Barbara Robin (nee Hardley). Born November 17, 1933. Passed away on July 13, 2023. Robin Hardley passed away peacefully with her family at her side, on 13 July. Sister of Katie and Glenice, mother to Simon and Mary Jane, mother in law to Maryann and Keith, and loved grandmother and grandmother in law of Nick and Rose, Jessica and Derek and Jorja. She will be sadly missed. A small private family service will be held in Mt Maunganui, the place of her happiest memories.

Condolences to all the Hardley whanau. I have been thinking about Robyn recently and wondering how I could make contact with her because the number I had was disconnected, then coincidentally, her passing was announced at the Auckland Bridge Club this Monday. I found the newspaper notice and see that you will have a family farewell in Mt Maunganui, and indeed may already have done so. Robyn was one of those rare brave people who was open to talking about her death and funeral long in advance. I am a celebrant and she asked to meet with me over coffee back in 2016, to tell me about what mattered to her.
