Dear Diane, Murray and Paul

I was so very sorry to read tonight over the internet of your dear mother's passing. I last spoke to her in May shortly after my own dear mother's passing, and knew she wasn't well.

I am so grateful for all that she contributed to my mother (Eunice) through a friendship which lasted over seven decades. My mother valued Barbara and their shared memories of happy times together at Kirribilli and, then after each married, exchanging photos of their children. I remember the last meeting, about 2011, when the two mothers and two daughters shared a happy afternoon in Auckland.

For myself, I remember a gentle and warm lady and, more importantly, a woman of faith. May that be your comfort now, that she is finally resting in the loving arms of Jesus.

I will be thinking of you this Christmas...

So sorry to hear of Barbara's passing, she was an amazing lady. I enjoyed the time we spent chatting on the phone when we were working on her contribution for the local history book, and I'm sad we won't get to meet again.

Just wanted to give my condolences on the passing of a lovely lady. I know that my mum (Wendy) will greatly miss the long friendship they enjoyed.
