Barbara DENCH Obituary

DENCH, Barbara Mae. Barbara died on 17 March 2026, aged 93 at Edmund Hillary Retirement Village, where she lived for the last years of her life. She is survived by her four children and their partners - Nikki and Tony, Simon and Jackie, Jeremy and Raewyn, and Chris and Fleur - six grandchildren and a great grandchild. She outlived Neville, her cherished husband, but gained comfort from her strong faith and firm belief that they would meet again in an afterlife. Barbara will be remembered for her love of life, gregariousness and care for others. She died knowing that she had enjoyed a good life and she was thankful for this. A service to celebrate Barbara's life and to recognise her faith will take place at St Philip's Anglican Church, 92 St Heliers Bay Road, St Heliers on Thursday 26 March at 1pm. Guests are invited to wear colour as a celebration and to reflect Barbara's enjoyment of life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St John's Ambulance/Hato Hone (https://www.stjohn.org.nz) who provided Barbara and many others with valuable service.
