We were destined to become good friends when we became next door neighbors of Averil and Ron, even meeting up with them in Singapore part way through their many international excursions on two occasions. Averil had led a varied an exciting life which included, acting, travelling and a career as a schoolteacher so she told great stories. She was a dedicated wife and daughter, an excellent artist and a devoted friend to many and she appreciated and loved her friendships. Averil could be everything a friend could ever possibly be, a parent if that was required, a sensible adult or a giggly schoolgirl with a great sense of humour. I will miss our friendship, Averil but I am pleased you are without pain. I am so pleased we got to acknowledge our valued friendship before you died. And I know that you will be at rest.
