BARTON, Athol. 2 October 2014. Dearly loved son of Peter and Shirley. Much loved brother of Sharman, Kyle, Lynndon, Shane and Peter Michael. Treasured Uncle of Tisa, Shelley, Juanita, Corey, Robin, Angela, Jason, Hayley, Kameta, Rachel, Rangataua, Lisa, Gareth, Jade and Rory. "Family's are Forever" A service will be held 11am Saturday 4th of October at the Church of Latter Day Saints, Hinemoa Street, Whakatane. I was lucky to have met Athol through the Buckingham Brothers.Super person, athlete ! I saw him later in OB and he would always stop and talk. I am lucky to have known such a fine person !

Athol lived with us for a while and we enjoyed many good runs and fun times together. He was a magnificent athlete, a talented writer and very good friend. Now we live in his home country and I think about him often.
