Please accept my deepest condolences upon Bryden's passing. I hope the Lord was near in his final days.

I was stunned and saddened to hear the news. I didn't know that Bryden's health had deteriorated so rapidly.

Bryden supported many of us, in lots of different ways: as a teacher, mentor, leader, and friend. Bryden stood for the trinitarian God, but also for the trinity of truth, beauty and goodness.

Bryden also believed in us, the coming generation, and in resourcing us to protect what is true, beautiful and good. We will carry on his legacy.

I'll always be grateful that Bryden supported me financially during my PhD studies.

I'll miss his intellect, sharp wit, frankness, and mischievous sense of humour.

I can only imagine the loving and forthright conversations that Bryden is having with the Lord right now.

I hope I can travel from Wellington to Bryden's funeral on 6 June to pay my last respects.

As Bryden would say, 'Shalom!'

God bless
