Dear Aroha..

I have lit a candle for you in every church I have been in from Geneva to Venice and back, I have read the messages here and I have thought of you and your family often, yet it does not seem to me that you have gone. I was not there to say goodbye and can not imagine that anything as sad as you not being able to be with your beloved family could happen.

So dear Aroha if it is true then I am so dreadfully sorry for all that you have lost, and I hope you know that you live in the hearts of those who love you and will continue to share and shape their lives forever...

Dear Aroha, thank you for giving us this special gift to come home and share with our families and your extended friends. Thank you for letting us know more about you and your families, for letting us know where your home is and for being that special angel. I really enjoyed the three beautiful sunny days in Russell. The marae and your whanau are amazing. Now I miss you every day. I know, we tried to prepare ourselves in not being able to see each other soon. But the joy of you and your family going on a new adventure was way better than you having to be taken away from us so suddenly. I will always remember the days at the gym and picking up our kids. I always look forward in seeing you because your present makes us all feel happier. Now my heart goes out to Ian, your soul mate and to your 4 beautiful kids and of course your mum. Eli I am so sorry you will miss the best nana ever.
Aroha, you are special to us all and I will never forget you, even though you like to tease the crap out of me at gym. A, you the best. Miss you, love you. Your short little Asian friend.

Ohh my friend. I think of you all day every day and am so grateful for our 31 years of friendship. The 4 days we spent with you and your beautiful family in October will be treasured forever. I'm so glad our time together was always QUALITY time.
My heart aches something chronic. I still can't get through a day without crying 'cause I miss you and feel for your kids, Ian, your mum and whanau and for Eli, your beautiful moko. You were sooooo happy the morning he was born, I'll never forget the pride and joy in your voice when you rang to tell me that you are a nana now :)
Syd's doing the Cape Brett walk for you next year - the one you wanted us to do with you last year. He's taking a special little something out there for me, then bringing it back for you :)
The only thing that makes this time bearable is knowing that you're with your dad and nana now.
Rest in peace my friend, I know you'll be watching over us all :)

Arohamai Michael for the loss of mum, I only got to know both you and mum for a short time at the North Harbour Hockey programme but am feeling deep sadness and tears for you, dad and your sisters.

Be brave little man, I hope the courage and determination that you showed on the hockey field will help you through those really, really sad days.

dear Aroha, we lost touch but I always thought we would meet up again one day. However time flies and now its too late. you were my first flatmate and best friend and i wish I had of shown you how much you meant to me. I will always be grateful to have known you, you were a helpful and positive influence in my life and i cant believe you are gone. my condolences to Julie and the family.

RIP Aroha Anderson nee Kerekere. Ian, thank you to you and Aroha's family for making us (myself, Lynda and Missy) feel welcomed when we arrived on Thurs, till we came home yesterday. The day we heard of your passing we woke with no hint the world would be a worse place – no omens only blessing seemed to path our way. The first true day of sunshine, song and laughter graced our day – few passing souls have ever commanded the heavens such.
