LTCOL (Rtd) Tony Wareham. Tony, it is with shock and sadness that I have heard of your passing. If there is a positive, it is the memories be this the wry smile and wicked sense of humour as one of our colleagues would put it or the whiskey in one hand and the rifle in the other....

....either way, you completed more that your fair share of service to New Zealand be this with the MZ Police or the NZ Army.

Time to rest now, stand easy soldier.

I first meet Tony in winter 1973 on a course at School Feet, and we last chatted in Gaza in 1975. There´s Long miles in between, all soldering. My condolences to Rod and Chris whom I also served with; may you both still be alive.

Condolences to family. I met Tony when he joined Mortar platoon at 7 WnHB Trentham but I was then moved by my civilian employer to Tauranga before we did an Annual Camp together. Was aware of his military journey and understand he is fondly remembered as CO 5 WWCT and his various overseas postings We did not re-engage until we met at the 3ANR Association committee post 2013. Only known for a short time but will be remebered for a long time. Colonel Tony, stand down duty done RIP. Thank you family for allowing myself and others to know him.

Worked with Monty during the 1980 and was my go to person for advice on aspects of Police work that he was particularly skilled in. Shared many laughs over far too many beers. One of the best gone far too soon. RIP Monty and thanks for the memories
