Anthony TURNER Obituary

TURNER, Anthony (Tony). Peacefully at Edmund Hillary Care Home on Tuesday 24th February. Beloved husband of Helen. Loved dad of Chris, Phil, Nikki, Steve, Mark and families. Much loved Granddad and Great Granddad. R.I.P. A service and livestream to celebrate Tony's life will be held at All Souls Chapel, Purewa Cemetery, 100 St Johns Road, St Johns on Monday 2nd March at 11am.

Sending love and condolences to Helen and all the family. Tony came into our lives as our teacher at Kariaotahi School early on in his career. He was like a breath of fresh air for us at our little country school, with new methods of teaching (including extended lunch hours so we could finish the cricket game) . Our families became good friends over many years and attended many social functions together. Rest in peace Tony.

Yesterday

Tony taught at Kariaotahi School as a sole teacher shortly after I started school.He became a good friend of the family for many years. Still remember him swishing his hair back, coaching tennis and commentating the local athletics.
