We will always be indebted to Tony for creating the paradise that we live in... Pauanui. I have a wonderful minds eye picture of him striding down the beach every day, arms swinging and a big smile. Julie, Mike, Paul, Jeff, Dean - our thoughts have been with you all and your families and of course dearest Doris throughout. We miss with great fondness our many chats over the Pauanui fence mostly comparing fishing stories with Tony over many years and his sensational homebrewed Damson Plum Wine - we will treasure our many laughs generated in true Hopper style - sadly our living in Queenstown prevents us from being there to celebrate Tony's amazing life - but our best wishes are with you all and your families - with Love Deb (nee Irwin) & Rod Gibbons

Once a person has touched your life you can't erase the memories during that time. Tony will be forever in my children's hearts and in his children's hearts. He is a part of them. There will be fond memories of long summer holidays in Pauanui that will be spoken of for many years to come. Sadness that the greatgrands will only know him in photos and stories. It is the job of the rest of the family to keep those memories alive. RIP Tony Hopper. I hope your golf swing improves and the fish are plenty. Love you up there...
