Anthony BOTES Obituary

BOTES, Anthony Stephen (Chris). Born October 23, 1940. Passed away on November 5, 2021. Born Capetown, South Africa. Chris passed away at home, suddenly but peacefully on Friday morning. Chris was with his family who are going to miss him greatly. He was a loving husband, father and Poppy. Chris was a loyal and proud engineer with the New Zealand Shipping Co. from 1959 - 1974 and a founding member of the NZSCo Association. He was a chartered engineer with over 45 years membership of the Institute Marine Engineers, Science and Technology (IMarEST). Chris continued his career with Gamlen and Ashland until he retired. He also spent many hours trout fishing on the Tongariro River with his mates. There is a private family funeral service on Friday 12 November at 11am.
