Dorothy was one of my teachers as I studied for my M.Ed in Special Education at McGill. Because of her I was offered a part time teaching job at McGill teaching teachers who were working on their diploma in special education. I met with her insisting that I was not ready for this. She listened, invited me to come back to see her in a few days when she outlined the course for me and recommended certain texts. I went on to give a successful course for several years thanks to her.
She was a great lady. Please accept my condolences.

Dear Diane,
I was saddened to learn of your mother's recent passing. The obituary is clear, heartfelt, and the "determinative issues" well identified. I see from your ease with line dancing that being a "graceful and effortless dancer" runs in the family. Please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Dorothy was a talented teacher of mine in the Department of Educational Counselling and Psychology at McGill. I studied with her for my M.Ed. and later co-taught with her in special needs. She was a knowledgeable and compassionate teacher and I am very saddened to hear of her passing.
Please accept my deepest condolences and know that my thoughts are with you at this time.
Warmly,

Dear Diane and family,
I am very saddened to learn of your mum's passing. She and your late dad were my next-door neighbours on Ballantyne North for 16 years. Dorothy was always an engaged person who enjoyed life. She will be missed.
