Anne HARROP Obituary

Harrop, Anne (Nee Beatson). Embarked on her next chapter 20 March 2026. Bubbles queen, party starter, adventurer and traveller. Rock and roll lover, crazy dancer, OG scooter rider, fisherwoman of distinction. Staunchly individual, passionately political and proud New Zealander. Compassionate, hilarious and deeply loved by everyone who knew her…unless she didn't rate you, of course. Adored wife and bestie of Jack for 63 years, adored mama of Kim and Nicky, and mama-in-law of Lio, much loved naughty sister of Heather, lifetime member of The Crones - and worshipped fur-granny of Eddie, Cheezels, Lefty, Jorji and Bassey. There are no words for how much we love you and how much we'll miss you. No funeral at Anne's request, but there's a heck of a party in the pipeline! Endless thanks to our gorgeous friends and the Middlemore team who were beyond amazing. In lieu of flowers, donations to SPCA or St John.

What a lovely lady I remember you as, Anne! As a granddaughter of Agnes Harrop, Nanna and Ken used to take us sometimes to see you and the family, or we would see you in Hamilton. You and Jack have daughters to be proud of and I recall it was always nice seeing you all. Your bright personality will be missed.

Anne, you welcomed me into your family as a dorky teenager many moons ago, and I felt honoured to share a birthday with such a cool, intelligent, kind, and calmly staunch queen. I wish I'd seen you again in the intervening years, but your legacy lives on in your fantastic daughters. All my love to you dear Nicky, Kim, and Sir Jack.

A very special Lady. We have many happy memories of Anne over the decades. Our thoughts and love are with Jack and family.
